Made thirty-five years after Roger Corman’s original comb of honey, the remake of The Wasp Woman (1995) boasts the B-movie gooiness that made the original such a success. The plot tells of an aging model (Jennifer Rubin) who’s uneager to step out from in front of the camera and assume a role behind the scenes. Desperate to reclaim her lost youth, Janice (Rubin) hires a mad scientist to concoct an anti-aging serum from wasp hormones. Almost immediately the model reclaims her youthful glow, but at a price that’s dangerously steep. Rubin sadly employs a body double to tackle her reveals, but costars Maria Ford and Melissa Brasselle offer plenty of sexual sting in separate sizzling scenes.
