A family of middle class intellectuals living in Brooklyn during the 1980s deals with divorce. Based on writer and director, Noah Baumbach, and his brother’s adolescence, the story goes through a number of coming of age events. The father, Bernard, is a pretentious writer who shuns most of the outside world and tries to morph feelings and emotions into rational symptoms. The mother, Joan, is practicing infidelity more and more. The two brothers split off when the parents move away from one another, and the younger one, Frank, starts to move away from supporting his mother once he finds out that she’s been sleeping with his tennis teacher. Bernard also begins an affair with one of his students. Walt, the older brother, fumbles through sexual awkwardness and musical plagiarism.

Halley Feiffer plays Walt’s girlfriend, Sophie. She’s in a bra, stroking Walt’s dong to the point of premature ejaculation. It’s a lengthy scene, so there’s a lot of opportunity to scope out Sophie. She could wail on my squid any day!
