The avant-garde experiment The Sadness of Sex (1995) is a multimedia meditation by Australian artist Barry Yourgrau on the nature of love, passion, human relations, and, of course, the act so important it’s part of the movie’s title. Sadness is a series of fifteen vignettes that Yourgrau leads us through as The Host. Innovative imagery and visual derring-do prove captivating, but La Femme Nikita knockout Peta Wilson provides the ultimate special effect when she simply, beautifully, bares her naked body. Peta’s character is named, fittingly, Girl of His Dreams.
