The Panic in Needle Park (1971)

The ’70s sleeper Panic in Needle Park (1971) helped establish Al Pacino as one of the decade’s rising stars, as he goes totally nuts as a New York City heroin addict. It’s totally painful to watch Pacino and Kitty Winn as two losers in a rapid downward spiral. Fortunately, it’s plenty of fun to watch Kitty’s playful pumpkins make their big screen debut. You’ll also get a kick out of Kiel Martin and Raul Julia’s amazing turns as Pacino’s junkie cohorts.
