The Oxford Murders (2008)

How many times in math class have students asked, “Why do we need to know this?” Well, in addition to being armed with facts that’ll help pay your taxes and other bills, the knack for mathematics could enable you to solve crimes. At least that’s the case in The Oxford Murders (2008). Adapted from the same-named book by Argentine mathematician and writer Guillermo Martínez, this R-rated flick is set in 1993 at England’s ancient University of Oxford. That’s where cantankerous philosophy professor Arthur Seldom (John Hurt) joins forces with an American student named Martin (Elijah Wood) to investigate a series of killings that appear to be based on mathematical principles. Álex de la Iglesia’s cinematic adaptation drifts into the lofty intellectual territory of Ludwig Wittgenstein and Pierre de Fermat, but you’ll only need to be able to count to two to appreciate the pair on Nurse Lorna (Leonor Watling). As was the case in Unconscious (2004), Malas Temoradas (2005) and The Baby’s Room (2006), the skintastic actress bares her beautiful breasts! After showing off her bra-clad boobs when fooling around with Martin in one scene, Lorna unleashes her ravishing rack while in the sack. No wonder Elijah has Wood! If that’s not arousing enough, Ms. Watling flashes her ass when she wears nothing but an open-backed apron in the kitchen. Regarding her hot buns, all Mr. Skin can say is “Bone appétit.” In other words, no matter what side of the pond you’re on, odds are you’ll be thrilled by this thriller!
