Charlton Heston is the last man on earth in The Omega Man (1971), an adaptation of Richard Matheson's classic genre novel I Am Legend. He passes the time playing chess with a bust of Caesar by day and fighting "The Family" at night. They're a gang of white-faced, black-cloaked mutant survivors of the bacterial warfare that decimated the world. Then he discovers normal survivors, including the busty Rosalind Cash. Suddenly, Heston finds a bust he can play chest with, which is better than playing chess with Caesar's bust. Heston dies Jesus-like, his blood the serum to cure humanity. But Rosalind is the real lust temptation of Christ.
