The Egyptian film industry is one of the strictest in the world, but Samir A. Khouri’s notorious drama The Lady of the Black Moons (1974) is famous for slipping its overt sexuality past the censors. Nahed Yousri stars as Aida, a sensuous young woman who pays a visit to a mysterious boarding house where visitors find fulfillment for their wildest sexual fantasies. After coupling with one of the brothel’s male occupants, Aida finds herself haunted by her decision to seek satisfaction in such a sinfully transgressive manner. Khouri’s film is chockfull of cultural references, but one needn’t understand Arabic to realize that Yousri is a first-class catch. The raven-haired beauty peels off all of her garments to indulge in a passionate encounter with her incredibly lucky stud.
