Master of excess Baz Luhrmann puts his opulent spin on a classic tale of wealth and corruption in The Great Gatsby (2013). Tobey Maguire stars as Nick Carraway, an aspiring writer who rents the cottage next door to a massive mansion owned by mysterious nouveau riche Jay Gatsby (Leonardo DiCaprio). Gatsby is known for his wild parties (and little else), but as it turns out he's driven by longing for his lost love Daisy Buchanan (Carey Mulligan), coincidentally also Carraway's cousin. If you're looking for jazz baby jugs you'll be disappointed here, because although we get Isla Fisher and Adelaide Clemens in vintage skivvies, Carey in her swimsuit, and foxy flappers Tiana Canterbury, Morgan Choice, Eden Dessalegn, Elenoa Rokobaro, and Lisa Viola in skimpy stage outfits, there's not a naked lady in sight. Guess money can't buy happiness after all...
