The Glass House (2001) has such a great title, which implies a transparency that we were really looking forward to, we can’t help but being a little disappointed by the lack of skin in this thriller. It does star two very hot properties, though: Diane Lane and Leelee Sobieski. That makes up for a lot. The story about an orphaned teenager taken in by a Malibu couple who aren’t the caring friends they first appeared to be, draws you in, too. The glass house is literal, as in the home overlooking the Pacific Ocean, but also meant to be figurative, like in not throwing stones. But we prefer Leelee’s figure, which she does let us see in a bikini, which gets wet, as they tend to do.
