The Deep Blue Sea (2011)

It may be easily confused with the Samuel L. Jackson movie about mutant sharks, but the only thing The Deep Blue Sea (2012) sinks its teeth into is a depressed housewife in 1950’s England. Hester Collyer (Rachel Weisz) is trapped in a dull marriage to her stuffy husband William (Simon Russell Beale), when she meets the brash young former fighter pilot Freddie Page (Tom Hiddleston) and develops an immediate attraction. It's tough to compete with a shredded pilot. Their passion is so intense that Hester risks her social standing to move from her posh digs to a hole-in-the-wall apartment with her new man. But when the infatuation starts to fade, Hester realizes that Freddie is too reckless to ever provide her with the love and security her husband did...but returning to her old life would destroy her as well. Sensational sex with the young dude she can't get enough of, but who doesn't have enough to take care of her, or life in a boring bedroom with a man who can give her the wealth and status she needs but can't satisfy her sexual needs? It's an impossible call, and one that Hester might not actually make since when faced with the decision she just might opt to opt out of life, entirely. What a downer. Frequently nude but always appreciated British babe Rachel Weisz plays the adulterous housewife in this tragic tale, but things seem pretty sunny side up when her glorious glutes come onto the screen 8-minutes in. Her and her man are in bed, and we're treated to a collage of body parts intertwined with each other! Looks like that pilot's going balls deep! Sure, we could've used a look at Hester's chesters, but aren't exactly blue about only getting to see that caboose! It might not be as fun as the shark movie, but at least The Deep Blue Sea won’t leave you with deep blue balls!
