Lucio Fulci, one of Italy's most revered fright-flick makers, turns to Edgar Allen Poe for inspiration in the ferocious feline thriller The Black Cat (1981). Patrick Magee is a psychic with pussy trouble. His ebony-hued pet tabby, he's convinced, is evil and somehow knocking off folks who traipse through the psychic's seaside English village.
