Starz has been on fire lately with the return of Vida, as well as Now Apocalypse, so the promise of a second season of Sweetbitterbrings hope that the series will feature more skin in season two! Ella Purnell, who bared her buns briefly in the first season, stars as Tess, a server in a posh Manhattan restaurant and her various loves and trials as she attempts to navigate this cutthroat world.
Like SMILF, another sophomore series centering around a skinny brunette, the show had a troubled production which likely spells doom for the series going forward. Supposing that the show has a substantial fanbase, hopefully it can stave off cancellation, and should the show add more nudity into the mix, it would be a damn shame if it didn't get a third season.
With only six episodes planned again for this second season, it cuts down on the number of opportunities for nudity, but hopefully the creative team behind Sweetbitter can turn those opportunities into opportun-titties! Fingers crossed for a lot more sex in the city when Sweetbitter returns for its second season on Starz July 14.
