Strip-tease (1963)

Great Nudity!

Top Scene

Review

The artsy, French black-and-white nudie Strip-tease (1963) is also known as Sweet Skin, and more than lives up to that name. Director Jacques Poitrenaud's meditation on class is an atmospheric timepiece that takes place in a Parisian strip club, and features Andy Warhol and The Velvet Underground associate Nico as one of the topless dancers. Yes, the singer and sometimes bestie of Jim Morrison, Nico is Ariane, a German ballerina living in Paris who has dreams of plieng on the classiest of Parisian stages. But while she chases that dream, she understnads that a complete lack of cash means she's going to have to plie her trade at more erotic dance clubs. While stripping, a super rich Frenchy named Jean-Loup (Jean Sobieski) falls for her, and starts showering her with lavish gifts. Suddenly, she sees a path to the upper crust without ballet. That is, if his wealthy parents accept their son marrying an exotic dancer. French musician, actor, and lunatic Serge Gainsbourg appears in an uncredited role as the club’s pianist. But in a French movie called Strip-tease, filmgoers are coming to the cinema looking for skin. The movie is black and white, but you won't mind since Nico's body is so tight! Back in the early 60's, it must have been a trip to see her strip! She starts out a little shy, but eventually she is baring her breasts without any hesitation. Feel free to Google Nico if you want to hear about some of her controversial views on race and her horrific battles with substance addiction, or you could ignore those, sit back and enjoy Nico's nips in Strip-tease!
