Within the acting community, there are all kinds of outlets for performers. The A-listers star in major motion pictures while others pop up in B-movies, indie flicks and short films. Some thespians avoid the cameras altogether as they enjoy a career in live theater. Many others make a living appearing on small screen series. In addition to streamers and direct-to-video releases, there are models who try their hand at acting via music videos. Enter Auckland eyeful Rachel Hunter. After popping up in Australian movies and flashing her 36”-24”-35” measurements on the cover of Sports Illustrated (1994), the statuesque stunner made her way to Hollywood as a judge on the reality TV show She’s Got the Look (2008-2010). But not before the busty blonde played Stacy’s Mom (2004) in the Fountains of Wayne music video. Borrowing an opening riff from The Cars’ “Just What I Needed”(1978), the band members (Chris Collingwood, Adam Schlesinger, Jody Porter, and Brian Young) launch into a pubescent tale of woe involving teenaged Stacy (Gianna Distenca) whose love interest (Shane Haboucha) can’t help but spank whenever he catches her curvy, middle-aged mom donning a bright red bikini. Chock full of ’80s rock and Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982) references, Chris Applebaum’s mini movie showcases Rachel’s best assets. Thanks to her presence, the song became the bestselling single for the band. It reached #21 on the U.S. charts; #20 in the U.K. and Australia; and #10 in Ireland. Of course, Ms. Hunter is always #1 in Mr. Skin’s eyes!
