America is a melting pot where success is always bubbling up from the surface. Give us your industrious, pure-hearted, compassionate, physically attractive, hardworking, respectful, and impoverished females, says the James L. Brooks social-issues comedy Spanglish (2004), and we will indoctrinate these expatriated womenfolk into a culture of idle neurosis, well-funded insecurity, and familial bickering. USA! USA! In this case, it's Deborah Clasky (Tea Leoni) representing the wealthy white woman problems. She's a former business boss turned stay at home mom who hires a hot Latina housekeeper named Flor (Paz Vega) to help her around the house. Deb's married to the incredibly chill, super successful chef John (Adam Sandler), who resents how mean she is to their chubby daughter (Sarah Steele), but doesn't say anything to keep the peace with that hot piece of ass. Understandable. The family goes on vacation to Malibu, and ask that Flor and her daughter Cristina (Shelbie Bruce) move in with them for the summer. Trouble ensues, with Flor resenting how much the Claskys pay for her daughter and want to give her the life their kids have, Deborah cheating on John, John admitting he wants to bang the sexy maid, and all sorts of other chaos. It's all told with the frame story of an older Cristina relaying the story as part of her Princeton application. Hope nobody in the admissions office knows John or Deborah. That'd be awkward. A bit more dramatic than the usual Sandler man-child fare, this one doesn't up the antie with a drop of the panties, but we do get a blink and you miss tit, nip-slip from Tea Leoni. Don't tease, Tea, give us that sweet T & A! Getting laid with the sexy latina maid, as well as the blonde girl boss that makes every dude sauce? Spanglish is your wang's wish!
