She (1985)

The sword and Sandahl sextravaganza She (1985) had too much going for it to have ended up so critically despised. Based on a late 1800's novel from the same guy who wrote all the King Solomon's Mines books, the film starred former Bob Fosse protégé Sandahl Bergman; a six foot blonde goddess who'd excelled as a supporting actress it in similarly themed but better stuff like Conan the Barbarian (1982) and Red Sonja (1985). Sandahl stars as She, the pronoun you want to take to pound town. Well, that and the leader of a female led society trying to survive in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, which is a huge change from the book's locale of a mysterious African jungle. After her girl gang's headquarters are infiltrated by a pair of dudes named Tom (David Goss) and Dick (Harrison Muller) out looking for a lost sibling (Elena Wiedermann), the man-bashing, girl-randy ruler sets out to hunt them down. But when the trio end up together on the wrong side of a serious tormentor, our foxy fella hater and the two dudes end up strange bedfellows in battle. Fighting off everything from mummies and vampires to evil lizard people, our nuclear holocaust surviving hottie never lets an opportunity to go topless in the wasteland go to waste! While seeing She amidst her comically carnal cohort of busty blonde brethren was definitely a treat, the best scene in the movie is when she hops into some kind of magical healing water pool. You'll be sure to drool seeing Sandahl's sandbags bouncing in the water as she washes up. Warrior woman or not, She can get it anytime!
