A murder mystery of the Italian gallo genre known for its rich mixes of ample mammaries and generous mayhem, Seven Blood-Stained Orchids (1971) tracks the progress of a black-gloved serial killer who leaves half-moon lockets as baffling clues upon the bodies of his brutally dispatched victims. Director Umberto Lenzi would go on to the girls-and-gore hall of fame with Make Them Die Slowly (1981), but he had already hit a stride of imaginative suspense, terror and brutality in Orchids, where death is delivered by strangulation, bludgeoning and at the point of a power drill.
