Food poisoning threatens to derail the Buffalo Bills’ Superbowl dreams in the feel-good made-for-TV sports movie Second String (2002). Robert Lieberman’s film opens as the Bills stand poised to cruise through the playoffs on the way to an elusive Lombardi trophy. Trouble strikes, however, in the form of bad clams––a development that causes the starting lineup to get shelved with food poisoning. Thankfully the B squad is up to the task of rolling over the competition, as rookie QB Dan Heller (Gil Bellows) and company punt, pass, and rush their way to victory in front of their Gipper, Jon Voight. Mr. Skin knows what you’re thinking––what about the cheerleaders? Fortunately the girls on tap aren’t second stringers at all, meaning that Teri Polo’s ready on call for a flesh flash.
