There was a time before we all knew the names Kelly Kapowski, Jesse Spano, and Lisa Turtle, and then there was what happened on this date in 1989.

That's when NBC debuted Saved by the Bell in its Saturday morning line-up, and introduced us to the blossoming beauties who so effectively fleshed out those beloved characters: Tiffani-Amber Thiessen, Elizabeth Berkley, and Lark Voorhies.

Saved by the Bell was an adaptation of a Disney Channel sitcom titled Good Morning, Miss Bliss that served as a vehicle for former child star Hayley Mills (who you can see grown-up and naked at MrSkin.com) as a junior-high teacher.

On NBC, the show shifted its focus to high-schoolers Zack Morris (Mark-Paul Gosellaar), A.C. Slater (Mario Lpez) and, of course, Samuel “Screech” Powers (Dustin Diamond), in addition to the aforementioned lovelies.

After graduating from Saved by the Bell in 1993, Tiffani-Amber Thiessen spiced things up as a teenage femme fatale on Beverly Hills 90210, while Elizabeth Berkley made movie history one magnificent bleached-blonde pubic hair at a time in the ultimate skinematic masterpiece (of ass), Showgirls.

Even Dustin Diamond got in on the adults-only action, releasing a home-porn video in 2006 titled Screeched (a.k.a. Saved by the Smell).

And in the end, just like the theme song goes, it was all alright, ’cause we were Saved by the Bell!
