A Swedish barber finds his life upended by the sudden and unexpected return of his wife in the kooky Scandinavian comedy Rötmånad (1970). Translatable as Dog Days, the film chronicles the unusual story of barber Assar Gustafsson (Carl-Gustaf Lindstedt), a man who is estranged from his wife must single-handedly raise his pretty teenage daughter (Christina Lindberg). When his wife unexpectedly returns one day, Assar is initially pleased. But his sentiments sour when the woman establishes a brothel in their yard and enlists their daughter to serve as the top draw. Lindberg’s a draw all right--there’s no doubt about it. The Swedish wildcat reveals every nook and cranny as she takes a long, luxurious walk around the local docks.
