Sad news today asThe New York Times has announced that Oscar, Emmy, Tony, and Grammy winning director Mike Nichols has died at the age of 83.A master of nearly every medium in which he worked, Nichols won 9 Tony Awards for his work directing and producing on the Broadway stage, 4 Emmy Awards for his HBO filmsAngels in AmericaandWit, 3 BAFTAs, 3 DGA awards, an Oscar and a Golden Globe for directing The Graduate, and a Grammy Award for his comedy albumAn Evening with Mike Nichols and Elaine May.
He also managed to get a lot of well-respected actresses to doff their duds on film! Though he failed to get Anne Bancroft in the buff for his Oscar-winning effort The Graduate, he did shoot a terrific topless scene featuring a body double!
His follow-up effort, an adaptation of the classic novel Catch-22, also featured some terrific nudity, including a full frontal look at the perfect Paula Prentiss, and a look at the outstanding orbs of Olimpia Carlisi!
After that zany comedy, he set his sights on the intense drama Carnal Knowledge, which featured Ann-Margret's best nude scene to date, as she bared her beautiful boobs and butt!
It would be 12 years before his next film with a nude scene, but it was well worth the wait as 1983's Silkwood finally brought us a look at Meryl Streep's luscious left breast!
Five years later, Nichols helmed the smash hit comedy Working Girl, which brought us a steamy sex scene between Harrison Ford and Melanie Griffith, as well as a nice topless scene from Elizabeth Whitcraft!
Another long nudity break followed, but when Nichols returned with 2000's What Planet Are You From?, he also brought along the knockout knockers of Judy Greer!
Nichols returned to HBO for 2003's Angels in America, which gave us the fully nude debut of the absolutely gorgeous Mary-Louise Parker, who bared all three b's in this gripping miniseries!
2004's Closer was supposed to bring us Natalie Portman's nude debut, but the director and actress agreed to leave it on the cutting room floor. Nevertheless, Nat still slipped a nip in the flick, allowing the film to retain its unofficial status as her nude debut!
Finally, 2007's Charlie Wilson's War would end up being Nichols' last film with nudity thanks to a terrifically topless hot tub scene with Cyia BattenHilary Angelo soaking up the suds next to Tom Yanks!
