Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver (2024)

The second part of Zack Snyder’s massive space opera picks up right where Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire left off, with Kora (Sofia Boutella) and the surviving rebels returning to the moon of Veldt after having defeated Admiral Noble (Ed Skrein) - though not realizing he has been resurrected by Regent Balisarius (Fra Fee). When Aris (Sky Yang), a soldier of Noble’s who is now on the rebel side, informs them that the massive Imperium army is still coming to plunder them, they get to work preparing a plan to fight them off. Kora has revealed to Gunnar (Michiel Huisman) that her adopted father Balisarius planned the assassination of the royal family and used her to pull it off, intending to frame her before she ran off and escaped to Veldt, but we’re more interested in Sofia’s sucklers escaping her bra when she and Michiel have sex during a scene from the director’s cut. Despite Kora being willing to surrender herself to the Imperium in order to spare the lives of the Veldt villagers, a bloody battle ensues and many are lost, including the robotic swordswoman Nemesis (Doona Bae) and Gunnar, who dies after killing Noble. The late arrival of Devra Bloodaxe (Cleopatra Coleman) and her followers leads the rebels to victory and when Kora tells the truth about her identity to everyone, Titus (Djimon Houndsou) lets loose a secret of his own - that the young princess Kora thought she killed is still alive. Another special addition from the director’s cut is a scene where Staz Nair’s beast tamer Tarak wakes up in bed with a topless Christine Kellogg-Darrin. They should rename this cut The Chubgiver!
