Ransom Canyon (2025)

As always seems to be the case with these contemporary Western series, a war is brewin’ between landowners out in the sprawling Texas hill country. This one involves Josh Duhamel’s Staten Kirkland, a rancher who lost his wife two years ago and has now just lost his teenage son Randall (Hubert Smielecki) in a car crash. After a year’s time, the grief still sits with him and his only respite is the presence of Quinn O’Grady (Minka Kelly), the pianist that owns the local dancehall and bar, Gracie’s. He’s not the only one in love with Quinn though - his late wife’s brother Davis Collins (Eoin Macken) has also been holding a candle for her. Their rivalry becomes more than a romantic one when a pipeline is proposed by Austin Water & Power that would run through the canyon, requiring Staten to sell off his land. Another rancher named Cap Fuller (James Brolin) gets caught in the middle of their land dispute, thanks to the presence of a drifter named Yancy Grey (Jack Schumacher) who gets a job as Fuller’s new formeman. But the prime real estate you’ll be interested in is the skin flaunted by cheerleader Lauren Brigman (Lizzy Greene) who’s trying to get out from under the thumb of her overbearing father, the town sheriff (Philip Winchester). She starts to let loose by donning a red bikini so she can take a dip with Garrett Wareing, but there playful frolicking is cut short. Meanwhile Marianly Tejeda picks up the slack as Quinn’s bestie who also has the hots for Staten, but gets distracted by Jack’s buff mystery man. Her top gets tossed away during two of their sex scenes, but her we never get to see her curvy canyons.
