Pool cleaner Jimmy Chance (Lucas Neff) is a professional loser. When the twenty-some year old isn’t at work cleaning pools for his dad, he’s busy partying it up with his loser buddies and his loser cousin (Skyler Stone), who lives in the family's laundry room. Did we mention that Jimmy still lives at home with his parents? Well, the unsuccessful apple must not fall far from the tree, since his parents still live with the mom's grandma Maw-Maw (Cloris Leachman). The pool skimmer’s mundane and empty life changes when he has a romantic encounter with Lucy (Bijou Phillips), a hot blonde who ends up also being a serial killer and wanted felon. Nine months later, when Jimmy pays Lucy a visit in lock up, he discovers that he’s the true prisoner, since his one-night stand produced a child that he must raise after the baby’s mama is sentenced to death. Fox's Raising Hope might sound grim, but the comedy kicks in when Jimmy and his eccentric family try to raise the new baby they first call "Princess Beyonce" but ultimately name Hope (Baylie and Rylie Cregut). From there, it's four season of pretty typical sitcom fare as we follow the family struggling to deal with their newest addition and come to grips with the wild situation they've suddenly found themselves in. Don’t get your hopes up if you’re looking for some skin from this primetime show, but as Jimmy's mom Virginia, Martha Plimpton heats up the show when she sports a bikini during a trippy beach scene. That body is dope! Martha will have you raising more than hope!
