Directed by Alain Resnais and based on a play by Alan Ayckbourn, Private Fears in Public Places (2006) is a Parisian comedic romance about six strangers all looking for love, though their sights are scrambled. One thinks a coworker is sending him messages in the videos she lends him. Another is a young woman who answers personal ads and waits for her love connections in cafes wearing one red flower pinned to her lapel. Will they find love? More importantly will you find skin? No. But Sabine Azéma, seen briefly naked first in On aura tout vu (1976) and most recently in Zone rouge (1986), does get sexy in the aforementioned videos, rubbing her cleavage on a bed and later showing off some nice leg and garter action in a vampy scene. They call Paris the City of Lights, but Mr. Skin thinks it’s more like the City of Delights!
