Review

There’s a lot of post-murder probing in Post Mortem (1997), but that’s perfectly reasonable. It’s certainly a crime that someone snuffs Annette Frier after she thoughtfully starts the film with a smoldering shower scene. Thomas Rühmann is the medical examiner--and friend of the dead girl’s family--who decides that the cops are wrong to assume that Annette was the victim of a serial killer who stalks prostitutes. The doc unravels a complicated mystery, but don’t be too impressed by how he gets the lovely Dascha Lehmann out of her clothes. She’s dead and in the mortuary as an exquisite corpse.
