Sam Robards is Sasha Greenberg, an astrophysicist who has spent the past 17 years working in the United States and is invited back to Moscow for a speaking engagement in the drama Perestroika (2009). Witnessing all the changes that have happened in Russia since he left gets the scientist pondering life and the nature of the cosmos.
