Review

Patty Hearst is quite a character. In addition to being the granddaughter of publishing giant William Randolph Hearst, she’s acted in the John Waters comedies Cry-Baby (1990), Serial Mom (1994), Cecil B. Demented (2000), and A Dirty Shame (2004). But mostly she’s known for being kidnapped by the Symbionese Liberation Army in 1974. After being held hostage for months, Patty caught a case of Stockholm Syndrome and began siding with her captors. As such, she changed her name to Tania and took up arms with the terrorists to fight “The Man.” By 1974, the hot hoodlum was arrested and convicted of the crimes she committed, despite the fact that Pat was brainwashed. After serving two years in prison, Ms. Hearst was released when then President Carter commuted her sentence. Eventually, she received a full pardon from President Clinton in 2001. As you can guess, her story sounds like a movie. So director Paul Schrader and screenwriter Nicholas Kazan cast Natasha Richardson in titular role of Patty Hearst (1988). Throughout the course of the biopic, flesh fiends have an opp to ogle Ms. Richardson’s skin! In fact, Nat dons a blindfold and nothing else during a bathing scene. Consequently, we are treated to views of her full frontal nudity! Obviously, Natasha felt comfortable liberating her breasts since she also did so in The Handmaid’s Tale (1990), The Comfort of Strangers (1990), Past Midnight (1992), and Asylum (2005). Alas, the pretty performer passed away in 2009, but fortunately she leaves behind this nude debut!
