It took Danish actress and director Paprika Steen five years to get into theater school, but when she finally did, she didn't waste any time. Queen Steen performed for the Royal Danish Theater and other companies while taking on film and TV projects. These include Last Round (1993), Fearless Frida (1994), The Biggest Heroes (1996), Hannibal & Jerry (1997), Lex & Klatten, Baby Doom (1998), and Lars von Trier's controversial comedy-drama The Idiots (1998), where she titillated in the proper role of "High Class Lady." Paprika was an important player in the Danish film movement Dogme 95, which was based on certain rules that sought to recreate traditional filmmaking. Along with The Idiots, Paprika appeared in Thomas Vinterberg's Festen (AKA The Celebration) (1998) and Søren Kragh-Jacobsen's Mifune (AKA Mifune's Last Song) (1999), making her the only person to perform in the first three films of the movement. Entering the 2000s as the darling of New Wave Danish cinema, Paprika found work in a variety of productions, including von Trier's Dancer in the Dark (2000), the children's film A Fish Tale (2000), and the crime series The Inspector and the Sea. Yet, despite all her success in all kinds of genres, Paprika didn't let us taste her secret spices until 2008, when she appeared in the shower in the psychological thriller Fear Me Not (2008). We got to see her beautiful buttocks through the fogged glass, but unfortunately she didn't turn around. We fear that we may never get served Paprika's sweetest Danishes, as she's in her 50s and presumably not getting more explicit.
