When the director’s name is Chang-dong Lee, you know Oasis (2002) has got to be good. And indeed this film is an oasis if you’re thirsty for a skinful drink of the rising (in more ways than one) star of South Korean skinema So-Ri Moon. It’s not your typical love story, however, matching a dim-witted ex-con with So-Ri, who suffers from cerebral palsy. But she’s not the only one shaking uncontrollably, especially when she lets her full moon rise. This oasis is worth trekking through a desert to get to.
