The mesmerizing Faye Dunaway had already earned two Oscar nods by 1977 (for Bonnie and Clyde and Chinatown, both nude performances) but had yet to take home the statuette. So Faye said, "I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!" and turned in the best performance of her career in Network and finally nabbed the little gold man. It probably helped that Network also provided one of the best nude scenes of Faye's career. It may have been brief, but seeing Faye's funbags flop away as she undressed for William Holden probably swayed the minds (and manhoods) of more than a few Academy voters.
