Biography

Misty Winter goes by many names: Margo Fonda, Mary Margaret, Susan Peters, Claudia Rains, and all spellings of Christie (Christin, Christi, Christy) Ford. But whatever you remember to call her, when she’s appears in a movie, you’ll remember her face…and other body parts. Cast as one of the lead characters, Roberta, (and credited as Misty) in one of the most classic X-rated, adult feature films of all times, Debbie Does Dallas (1978) was not the spicy actress’s first film role, but one of her most well-known. Although she didn’t appear in any more of Debbie’s adventures, the franchise lived on with 11 more films through 2005, plus three remakes, two spin-offs, and referred to in more than 100 other pop-culture titles. What Misty did appear in was 20 other adult-film titles in a period of four years, some of them even sounding quite high-falutin’, like Woman in Love: A Story of Madame Bovary (1978), where she played Amy (credited Christin Ford); For Richer for Poorer (1979) as the character Marge (credited Mary Margaret); and October Silk (1980) as Angela. Of course, some of the magical movies Misty took part in just sound like a bangin’ good time (as they have the absolute right to), including N.Y. Babes (1979), where Misty’s character name is the awesome Itchy McGuire (she was credited as Christy Ford); Afternoon Delights(1980), with the star credited as Claudia Rains and acting the role of Nina; and Manhattan Mistress (1981), with Misty playing Hannah and credited as Margo Fonda. Call me Ishmael, call me Mr. Skin, call me crazy for loving every one of Misty’s monikers.
