In Christiane Lilge’s highly condensed short drama Mexico City (2001), a pair of wanderers meets by chance in a foreign locale, while locals leap to their deaths from a high-rise. Lilge uses her arty, five-minute film to explore thorny philosophical issues, but just as compelling is her decision to toss in a ten-second scene of sweaty, passionate coupling. Kirsten Nehberg doesn’t waste a second saddling her man like a cowgirl.
