When the HBO miniseries The Young Pope premiered a few years back, I don't think many of us were expecting anything at all in the way of sex and nudity. This was a story about the leader of the Catholic Church, an institution not exactly associated with sex and nudity, but director Paolo Sorrentino (The Great Beauty, Youth) managed to pack in some incredible nudity—including that devil's threesome with the gorgeous Rayna Tharani!
The show is now returning for a second season with a new look, a new attitude, and a new title: The New Pope. There's also this brand new teaser trailer showing series star Jude Law walking on the beach in a papal banana hammock, grabbing the attention of every scantily clad woman on the beach. Honestly the only song that would've made this teaser better is this classic by The Stranglers...
While we can't guarantee there will be any nudity in this new incarnation of the series, this is clearly a pope that every woman wants to fuck, so the odds are good. The show will be premiering at the Venice International Film Festival this coming Saturday, and we can expect a release on HBO later this year.
