Love on the Side (2005)

Alternately titled Deluxe Combo Platter, the Canadian coming-of-age story Love on the Side (2005) centers on a waitress with a self-image problem and a nagging crush. Eve (Marla Sokoloff) refuses to believe that she’s as scorching hot as everybody knows she is, which gives her cold feet when it comes time to ask out Jeff (Barry Watson), the dumb jock she’s pining after. When a bombshell businesswoman (Monika Schnarre) arrives on the scene, however, the complications multiply. Not only is Jeff hot for the newbie, but the newbie’s got a Sapphic crush on Eve. Director Vic Sarin spins a tangled web, but it’s easy enough to keep one’s eye on the prize because it’s spilling out of Schnarre’s bra.
