Lilian's Story (1995)

Ever since Toni Collette skyrocketed to fame as the bride in Muriel’sWedding (1994) and as the moms in the thriller The Sixth Sense (1999) and the rom-com About a Boy (2002), she’s been entertaining Americans on the small screen in The United States of Tara (2009-2011) and on the big screen via In Her Shoes (2005), Knives Out (2019), Nightmare Alley (2021) and the chiller dillers Fright Night (2011), Krampus (2015), and Hereditary (2018). But before she doffed her duds in Japanese Story (2003), The Last Shot (2004), The Dead Girl (2006), Mental (2012) and Madame (2017), she really flashed her flesh in Lilian’s Story (1995). In fact, the saucy Aussie shows what she’s got Down Under (and all over) in the Australian drama. Inspired by the life of nonconformist Bea Miles and based on the novel by Kate Grenville, the film follows Lilian Singer (Collette) who was abused by her father (Barry Otto) and then committed by him to an insane asylum for 40 years. Needless to say, this is a dark tale yet the scenes of a brazenly bare Toni are well-lit. It takes a long time to get to it, but Toni displays her T&A when she lays on a beach at the 01:03:00-minute mark. The naked leading lady proceeds to show her full frontal nudity 15 minutes later. If that’s not erotic enough, Ms. Collette proves she isn’t shy about strutting her stuff in the buff. As such, this flick is best watched with a box of tissues!
