Let Them Eat Cake

Poking fun at their French neighbors, the BBC sitcom Let Them Eat Cake starred Absolutely Fabulous (or Ab-Fab to the fans) co-star Jennifer Saunders as the Colombine, the Comtesse de Vache, a rich bitch in the 18th century French aristocracy of Louis XVI. Though panned by some critics, the 1999 series was well received by fans for its irreverent humor. It also starred Ab-Fab creator Dawn French as Lisette and Lucy Punch as Eveline. Saunders also starred in 1985’s The Supergrass, about a loser who lies about being a drug dealer to impress a girl, then ends up trying to explain his way out of it when the cops get wind. Somehow, we don’t think he got that line out of 101 Ways to Pick Up Girls.
