Lady Snowblood 2 (1974)

Hope is alive, even upon the gallows steps. The setting is nineteenth-century Japan. A single woman, sentenced to die for mortally avenging wrongs perpetrated upon her kin, is rescued by the emperor’s secret police as she is being led to execution. Thus begins the melodious mayhem of Lady Snowblood 2: Love Song of Vengeance (1974). The merciless ruler’s henchmen insist that in exchange for being granted life, Lady Snowblood must infiltrate and eliminate a band of antigovernment nihilists. Infiltrate Lady Snowblood gladly does, but allegiances are made to be switched. The cruel overlords are advised to keep their ears attuned to the Lady’s killer harmonies.
