La Carta esférica (2007)

Based on a book by Arturo Perez-Reverte, La Carta esférica (2007) stars Aitana Sánchez-Gijón as a fetching femme fatale who fetches a valuable eighteenth-century maritime atlas at an auction. Italian baddie Enrico Lo Verso isn't happy about losing the bidding war, and he threatens Aitana. This gets the attention of sailor Carmelo Gomez, who follows the alluring lady to the museum in Madrid where she works. It's there that she reveals to Carmelo that she thinks the atlas holds the key to finding a missing brig. It's not long before he's totally in love with Aitana, and together—joined by Carmelo's old pal Javier Garcia Gallego—the couple heads off in search of adventure. But Enrico and another guy who wanted to get his mitts on the map are after them, and it's not just to get a glimpse of Aitana's tufted treasure.
