Lady Caliph (1970)

Sex trumps politics in the fiery Italian drama La Califfa (1970), based on a novel by the film’s director, Alberto Bevilacqua. Singular sensation Romy Schneider stars as an impassioned union organizer who runs up against the powerful head of a local factory (Ugo Tognazzi). As tempers rise and passions spark, it isn’t long before the strong-willed Schneider and the besmirched Tognazzi are doing their arbitration from the bedroom. Much to the delight of moviegoers (and to the chagrin of the factory workers), Schneider exhibits her regal frame in all of its curvy glory.
