L' une chante, l'autre pas (1977)

Set against the backdrop of the women’s movement of 1970s France, L’une Chante, L’Autre Pas (1977) follows Suzanne and Pauline (Thérese Liotard and Valérie Mairesse) over a fifteen year period. Pauline is a middle class girl, at odds with her conventional family. Suzanne is an older country girl with two illegitimate children and another on the way. With Pauline’s financial assistance, ol’ Suzanne swings for an illegal abortion. Even though they send an occasional postcard, the two gals fail to keep in close contact. Years later, the distant friends meet again at an abortion rally, and they have a ton of stories to share. French films are full of flesh, and L’une Chante, L’Autre Pas is no exception. Valérie Mairesse shows bush and boobs while Thérese Liotard steals the shows off her perky cuties in a post-poke bedroom scene. These Francophone femmes will give you an aching bone!
