Biography

Doe-eyed sweetheart Justine Waddell seems to have a bit of mischief hidden in her smile and a definite affinity for getting naughty on screen. This brainy beauty from Johannesburg, South Africa, moved to Scotland in early childhood, then settled in London, where she studied Sociology and Political Science at Cambridge's Emmanuel College. Too gorgeous to waste away in an office job, she landed her first acting role as Millie Thorman in the TV movie The Moth (1997). Her aristocratic looks won her a number of roles in period pieces including TV movie The Woman in White (1997) as Laura Fairlie, Countess Nordston in Anna Karenina (1997), the title character Tess Durbeyfield in the TV movie Tess of the D'Urbervilles (1998), Estella in TV movie Great Expectations (1999), and Julia Bertram in Mansfield Park (1999). But Justine really made a name for herself in Hollywood by landing a lead role as Mary Heller-Van Helsing in Dracula 2000 (2000) with Gerard Butler and Jonny Lee Miller; portraying Natalie Wood in the Peter Bogdanovich-directed mini-series The Mystery of Natalie Wood (2004); and Chaos (2005) as Det. Teddy Galloway with Jason Statham, Ryan Phillippe, and Wesley Snipes. It wasn’t until she was cast in the futuristic Russian thriller Target (2011), as Zoe, that we got to see some skin from Ms. Waddell, but it was well worth the wait, since she bared her boobs, buns, and bush in three steamy sex scenes. Target was also significant for Justine in other ways; while filming, she lived in Moscow, and taught herself Russian by watching classic Russian films. Moved by the movies, she started Kino Klassika Foundation, a UK registered charity committed to educating audiences about the tradition of Russian-language cinema. Brainy girls are hot girls.
