Hollywood doesn't make a ton of movies about strippers, with the working girls often relegated to subplots and side characters, so the prospect of a movie about a group of strippers played by celebrities is intriguing. Hustlersfeatures Jennifer Lopez, Constance Wu, Keke Palmer, Julia Stiles, Lili Reinhart, Trace Lysette, Madeline Brewer, and former stripper turned rapper Cardi Bas women who climb the pole for a living.

Based on a New York Magazine article from 2015 titled "The Hustlers at Scores," Hustlers tells the story of a group of strippers at the renowned New York City strip club who took revenge against a group of wealthy Wall Street clients in the aftermath of the 2008 financial collapse. The film was written and directed by Lorene Scafaria (Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, The Meddler), meaning that it might be the first major Hollywood movie about strippers without a male director at the helm.

It goes without saying that the original article could be considered a spoiler for the film, but it's a fascinating story, one that's more or less guaranteed to make for a compelling piece of cinema. The best news of all is that we won't have to wait much longer for Hustlers, which hits theaters across North America on September 13.
