Into the Badlands (2015- ) is a show that fits many genres. With a nod toward both steam punk and martial arts, it takes place in a post apocalyptic feudal society, where seven powerful barons rules over the Badlands. Baron Quinn and his army of Clippers remains the most prominent, led by the head Clipper Sunny. The female baron of the Badlands, the Widow (Emily Beecham), is upsetting his secure role, though, and threatens to dislodge him from his position of power. When Sunny rescues a teenage boy with a heavy bounty on his head, it looks like the entire future of the Badlands may change. And speaking of changing, we get a good look at Emily when she strips off her robe and hops in bed with some lucky dude! If you loved Bruce Lee, Kung Fu, The Matrix, or any number of other martial arts flicks, you'll likely love the genre mashup that is "into the Badlands." The ad campaign did it almost no justice, as this is a truly first class boob tube show with epic set pieces, themes, and more to keep you entertained. The mix of martial arts with supernatural and post-apocalyptic imagery may not seem like the most compatible combination, but it's quite effective. The best part is likely the fight scenes, which are astounding considering this was made for television. Mr. Skin can give this series a resounding two boners up. It's just a bit of a shame that there's not more naked on display.
