Legendary Italian marathon runner Dorando Pietri gets his life dramatized in the mini-series Il sogno del maratoneta (2012). 1905 Italy, Dorando Pietri (Thomas Trabacchi) and his brother Ulpiano (Thomas Trabacchi) decide to participate in a marathon in Capri, and be managed by a local businessman, Artemisio Barbisio (Pippo Delbono). When their manager decides to back another runner instead, Dorando’s overwhelming desire for revenge gives him the fire to beat the current champion.
