Review

After a blockbuster arthouse run, the Brazilian sex comedy I Love You (1981) became an early '80s cable-TV staple and made loving one's self to sexbomb Sonia Braga a masturbatory rite of passage for the recently pubescent male members of Generation X. The movie's plot is typical of European softcore fare—Sonia plays a neglected housewife who turns to hooking to relieve her loneliness and ends up in over her head (occasionally literally)—but the heat generated by Braga and costar Paulo César Peréio (as a frustrated bra-cup salesman for whom our heroine falls) made I Love You a skinstant classic upon the film's release. Its status has not diminished one tit in the decades since.
