Hopla på sengekanten (1976)

Distributed internationally as Jumpin' at the Bedside, the smutty Danish sex comedy Hopla på sengekanten (1976) is a singular example of the Scandinavian “family porn” genre, which relates bawdy tales of marriage and adultery. Ole Sølto plays an enterprising businessman who decides to hire call girls for his professional contacts as a way to improve business. Little does Sølto realize, however, that his own wife (Vivi Rau) joined the brothel because she’s being neglected at home. Comic hijinks ensue, but it’s the sultry reveals by Rau and co-star Kate Mundt that make all the difference here, converting a run-of-the-mill comedy into a must-see farce.
