Hex (1980)

Great Nudity!

Review

The Shaw Brothers put their spin on Diabolique in the creepy, icky, thoroughly sticky ghost story Hex (1981). "Tanny " Tien Ni stars as Madame Chan, a wealthy aristocrat who's slowly dying of tuberculosis. Her illness prevents her from keeping up with the housework, so she hires Yi Wah (Szu-Chia Chen) to help out. But little does she know that Yi Wah's duties include handling Mr. Chan (Wang Yung)'s tool. So when the ladies band together to kill the abusive, alcoholic asshole in a moment of anger, it sets off a convoluted chain of events that can only culminate in--what else?--an exorcism. Hex is nothing more than a haunted-house flick for most of its 90 minute running time, but fast-forward to the 1 hour, 17 minute mark for a jaw-dropping fully nude dance scene where Tanny shakes her prodigious pair and fluffy muff, even giving us an occasional glimpse of her egg roll as she writhes around. By the time Szu-Chia gets her turn to go fully nude as characters are painted all over (and we do mean all over) her body five minutes later, Hex will have your head spinning.
