Gridlock'd (1997)

Junkies are people too, and their plight is as adaptable to cinematic exploration as any other, hence the socially satirical drug addict drama Gridlock’d (1997). Eternally boyish British wonder Tim Roth teams with late rap great Tupac Shakur as a pair of strung-out musicians who pull comatose Thandie Newton’s naked form from a bathtub. The fact that Roth and Shakur can gaze upon the satiny ebony sweetness of Thandie’s skin and take her unconscious state as a sign that they should go to rehab is a testament to just how smacked down their characters must be. Anybody else would take a sighting of naked Thandie as an augur for getting busy. The titular gridlock is the jam of blocked access the two drug buddies encounter in their effort to get clean.
