Geneviève Waïte Nude

She’s had a troubled personal life, but Geneviève Waïte has certainly left behind a major skinema legacy. The former South African supermodel made her Swinging Sixties film debut in Joanna (1968), a bizarre musical where she’s the titular free spirit who romances rich guys and bares her bod for some swimming. The film was written and directed by Michael Sarne, who then gave Geneviève a small role in his big follow-up, Myra Breckinridge (1970). Even though she was uncredited, Geneviève’s career almost ended--along with Sarne’s--after Myra became one of the biggest bombs of all time. Geneviève made one more screen appearance as a pornographer’s muse in Move (1970), and then she was off to a troubled personal life--mostly in connection with husband John Phillips of The Mamas & The Papas. She was actually trying to dry out once again when she gave premature birth to daughter Bijou Phillips. Geneviève may avoid the limelight now, but she certainly didn’t pass that gene on to her wild-girl daughter.
